Covestro AG is a German company which produces a variety of polyurethane and polycarbonate based raw materials. Products include isocyanates and polyols for cellular foams, thermoplastic polyurethane and polycarbonate pellets, as well as polyurethane based additives used in the formulation of coatings and adhesives.
Makrolon® polycarbonate is extremely robust, lightweight with glass-like transparency and is impact resistant – even at low temperatures. It also has a high dimensional stability and is easily molded, yet displays excellent heat resistance with a glass transition temperature of up to 148ºC.

The uniqueness of Apec® is its outstanding transparency and brilliance paired with a high resistance to heat. It also offers an excellent high-gloss surface for applications such as metallization. This linear, amorphous copolycarbonate can withstand temperatures between approx. -30°C and approx. 150°C for extended periods. It is also tough and resistant to impact.
